The Lord led us here from California two years ago and we are excited about all the wonderful things God is doing in the Rio Grande Valley as well as our Church. We have six children, Pedro III, Sonia, Jordan, Isabel, Anabel and Mateo. In California we had the opportunity to attend Bible School and graduated about four years ago. Family is very important to us therefore we try to spend quality time with our children and loved ones as much as we can. We like renting movies, eating pizza or playing board games even though we are a competitive bunch. The Spiderman series, the Back to the Future series, the Tyler Perry series, What a Girl Wants, Hitch and Guess Who are among our favorite movies. Watching or playing sports is a fun way we spend time together. We enjoy listening to contemporary Christian music and teachings of our favorite ministers. We have been reading The Purposed Driven Church and The Purpose Drive Life books and they have been very inspiring to us. Our parents are the individuals we admire most. They have been our role models throughout our lives and we have learned many valuable things from them.
Pete: I was saved at the age of 7 years-old in my first Church. I briefly walked away from the Lord but, then God called me back so I rededicated my life back to Him in 2000 and have been going strong ever since. God has changed my life by strengthening me during my divorce and establishing me on His word. My favorite scripture is Psalm 37:3-4
Maribel: I was saved at 7 years-old in the yellow sofa in our living room in Puerto Rico and my mom led me to the Lord. I rededicated my life in January of 1998 and I haven’t turned back since. God healed me from asthma, from being allergic to pretty much everything. He has given me hope and direction on where to go and how to live for Him. I’m so thankful He chose me. My favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6.
As pastors our goal is to see people grow and mature to their potential in God. We want to be a vessel that God can flow through to help and bless His people. Also, we want to lend a hand and be there for them when they go through lives’ trials and tribulations but also to laugh and rejoice in their victories. We want to touch every single person with the love of Christ, to see their lives fulfilled and for them to see that coming to FGP is coming to a safe place where there is peace, hope, healing, and love.
