Do Not Despise the Wilderness
Scripture: “Fear not, for I am with you… I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”— Isaiah 41:10
God brought Israel out of Egypt, but He did not immediately take them into the Promised Land. He led them through the wilderness. The wilderness was not their final destination; it was the place of preparation.
There are things God must remove from us before He can entrust greater things to us. We may leave Egypt in a moment, but it can take time for Egypt to leave our thinking. In the wilderness, God exposes complaining, fear, impatience, pride, and dependence upon the world. He renews our minds, shapes our character, and teaches us to recognize His voice.
Do not assume that difficulty means God has abandoned you. The wilderness can become the place where you know Him most deeply. Israel encountered supernatural provision there: bread from heaven, water from a rock, and divine guidance every day. When they had no natural answer, God revealed Himself as their Source.
Perhaps you feel like you barely have enough. Do not allow your present condition to change what you believe about God’s promise. What you see today is temporary, but His Word stands forever. The wilderness is where faith, discipline, gratitude, and dependence upon God are developed.
Do not run back to what God delivered you from simply because the process is uncomfortable. God is not punishing you; He is preparing you to stand in the place of promise.
Prayer: Lord, help me trust You in this season. Remove every old mindset that cannot enter the promise with me. Strengthen my faith, shape my character, and teach me to depend completely upon You. Amen.
Practical Challenge: Replace one complaint with thanksgiving today. Specifically thank God for how He is providing, teaching, or strengthening you in this season.
