Follow His Leading
Scripture Reading: Romans 8:14; Numbers 9:18–23
When the cloud moved, the Israelites moved. When it remained over the tabernacle, they stayed. Their journey required more than the ability to travel. It required attention to God’s direction.
Following the Holy Spirit requires that same surrendered heart. We often want the Lord to bless a decision we have already made. We develop the plan, choose the timing, and then ask Him to make it succeed. But walking with God means giving Him room to direct our steps.
Sometimes obedience means moving forward when we feel afraid. Sometimes it means waiting when we feel ready. Both require trust.
Waiting can be especially difficult when other people seem to be advancing. We may feel pressure to copy someone else’s assignment or force an opportunity to happen. Yet another person’s direction is not automatically God’s instruction for us.
Pastor Kevin emphasized that we are to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading. Our responsibility is to listen and respond faithfully, even when we do not understand every detail.
Make room to listen through prayer and Scripture. The Holy Spirit will never lead you contrary to God’s Word. Seek wise, godly counsel when you need help discerning your next step.
You do not need to manufacture a dramatic experience to obey what God has already made clear. Forgive. Speak truthfully. Serve faithfully. Love generously.
As you surrender today’s decisions to Him, trust that He knows how to lead His children.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, teach me to follow Your leading. Give me courage to move when You direct me and patience to wait when needed. Shape my desires through Your Word. I surrender my plans and timing to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
